Fermilab Cryo Module Testing Facility
Cryo Module Test Facility (CMTF) Building Title II Design – HVAC System
Commissioned by the U.S. Atomic, Energy Commission in 1967, Fermilab (Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory) has been home to the Tevatron, the world’s most powerful atomic particle accelerator, for more than 20 years. Fermilab is the premiere national laboratory for physics in America and is dedicated to working with global partners on pioneering research to transform technologies for science and industry.
Whether it is hiring the top scientists in the world, creating new technologies for research or building new facilities, Fermilab is committed to providing the best facilities in the world to explore particle physics research. YMI Mechanical was contracted to install the HVAC system for two new buildings at the lab, the Cryo Module Test Facility (CMTF) building and Compressor building. Upon completion, the new buildings conformed to the U.S. Department of Energy’s Guiding Principles for High Performance and Sustainable Buildings
